Facial Day Creams protect reinforce your skin, nourish and protect it from environmental aggressors and pollutants. Ingredients such as antioxidants, sun protection and vitamin C are essential for a great day cream. Facial day Creams tend to come in lotion, cream or gel formulas. During the day you do not need a heavy cream as you would at night. Daytime is when to protect your skin from pollution and congestion.

Think of your daytime moisturizer as a shield between your skin, dirt, and dryness. Daytime Facial Moisturizers come in an array of formulations from lotions to gels. For those with dry skin, lotion and creams are best. If you have oily skin, you are better off using a gel or more lightweight formula. For those with combination skin, you can use either cream, lotion, or gel depending on what works best on your skin. It is essential to use sun protection during the day. Some Facial Moisturizers have built-in protection; however, it is always suggested to add a facial sun protectant over your facial moisturizer.

For those with Dry Skin, try a facial Day Cream rich in Vitamin E, Essential Oils, and Vitamin C. Just as Oily Skin is caused by excess sebum production, Dry Skin is caused by dehydration, Nutrition, and a lack of sebum production. Moisture-rich day creams will allow your skin to maintain it’s natural moisture throughout the day.

Oily Skin requires a day cream rich in antioxidants to help protect your pores from congestion. Antioxidants will also help to level out sebum production and help your skin maintain normal moisture level. These creams are also very good for those with Acne Prone Skin.

Day Creams rich in ceramides, antioxidants and vitamin c are the perfect choice for those with normal to combination skin. These skin types can easily go with a lotion or gel formula that also refreshes skin.

Facial Day Creams should always be applied onto clean skin. Apply your moisturizer after you have cleansed, toned, applied essence, eye cream, serums, and oils. The correct way to apply your Facial Moisturizer is to apply using your fingertips starting at your node and working your way outwards. Then proceed to the center of the forehead and again gently massage in an outward motion. Proceed to the chin, neck, and décolleté area.
