Nothing looks more beautiful than natural and loose curls. In fact, you simply cannot look through a magazine without seeing someone that has relaxed and beautiful curls. This bohemian and ultra feminine hairstyle is everywhere. Creating this look is quite easy with the right tools. In fact, once you know how to achieve this style, you may never run to the hairdresser again for curls. It all comes down to the right curling iron and the right styling products, simple as can be.

Lets start with the tools you need for this look. We always suggest you get a curling iron that heats up fast and adds shine to your hair cuticle. The tool you use to curl your hair is critical to your style. The right curling iron will define and enhance shine. We just love Keratin Complex 1/2" Tapered Curling Iron. This curling iron is super easy to use, heats up fast and leaves your hair full of shine as a bonus! You will also need a texturizing mousse, a wide toothed comb, and light hold hairspray. Now that you have the tools you are ready to get started on the technique!

First start by drying you hair 80% dry. Add a good texturizing mousse to your hair from roots to ends at this point. We like to use Moroccanoil Curl Control Mousse. This mousse protects your hair from heat styling, amplifies your hair’s natural shine and promotes a smooth curl. Once the mousse is on your hair, finish drying your hair completely. If you have straight to wavy hair, dry it using your fingers, as you do not want your hair to be super straight. If you have curly hair, use a paddle brush to dry your hair. You want your hair to dry with some wave and texture before starting to curl it.

Once your hair is completely dry you can begin to section your hair off to help make curling easier. Start curling from the bottom to the top of your hair. The Keratin Complex 1/2" Tapered Curling Iron by Cortex does not have a clamp to hold your hair. You need to hold the end of the hair and wrap it around the iron. This type of iron is healthier for your hair as it prevents your ends from becoming dry and splitting. We suggest you curl sections depending on the size of your curling iron. Since this iron is half an inch, curl half-inch sections at a time. Make sure to curl each section in the same direction. Curling your hair in the same direction, you assure that when you brush it, your hair looks smoother.

Once your hair is curled, grab your wide-tooth comb and comb through your hair softly. This helps to loosen the curls. Once you have combed through your hair the first time, turn your head downwards and comb it again from the back forward. We like to use the Mason Pearson Rake Comb. These combs are made with one piece of wood; which assures that there is less pulling of your hair and therefore less breakage. Now you can comb it once more and then you are ready to lightly spray your hair with a light hold spray. Try Sachajuan Light and Flexible Hair Spray. A light hold hairspray will help keep the style in place, without making your hair crunchy or stiff. Now just shake off your hair using your fingers and voila! Beautiful relaxed curls easily achieved at home.
